# FAQ

## General

    Yes. [Invite the bot](https://melonly.xyz/bot) to link your Discord server to Melonly for roles, nicknames, log channels and commands. See the [Discord bot guide](/Guides/Miscellaneous/discordbot).

  <Accordion title="Is Melonly free?">
    Yes. The Mod Panel, Discord bot and basic ER:LC features are free forever. Paid plans like [Melonly Plus](/Guides/plus) and Departments add more. See [Subscriptions](/Guides/managingsubs) for everything you can buy.

  <Accordion title="Can I bring my logs from another bot?">
    Yes. You can import punishment logs and shifts from ERM, Ducky or Trident. See [Switching to Melonly](/Guides/Miscellaneous/switch).

  <Accordion title="Does Melonly have a public API?">
    Yes. Create a token in your server's [Settings](/Dashboard/settings#server-api-tokens) and use the [Melonly API](https://api.melonly.xyz/swagger). Free servers get 100 requests a month. Servers with Plus have no monthly limit. Every server is limited to 60 requests a minute.

    Yes. They share the same data, so use whichever suits you.

## Troubleshooting

  <Accordion title="My Discord server is already linked to another Melonly server">
    That Discord server is linked to a different Melonly server or department. Run `/unlink` in the Discord server, then link it again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A log says Unknown User">
    The person who made the log hasn't signed up to Melonly. It fixes itself once they create an account.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Melonly is missing permissions in a channel">
    Give the bot View Channel and Send Messages in that channel, then save the channel setting again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I can't see any log types on the Mod Panel">
    Your roles don't allow any log types. Ask an admin to update your role permissions.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I copy a player's Roblox ID?">
    Type their username in a player field, then click the avatar on the right of the input to copy their ID.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I end someone else's shift?">
    With the Manage Shifts permission, click their avatar on the Mod Panel to end their shift or break.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="My shift keeps ending by itself">
    Your server probably has [Shift Automation](/Dashboard/erlcintegration/api/shiftautomation) on, which ends your shift when you leave the ER:LC server. If it ends while you're still in game, [link your Roblox account](https://melon.ly/rblx).

  <Accordion title="Melonly isn't changing my nickname or roles">
    Discord doesn't let bots change the server owner's nickname. For everyone else, Melonly's bot role must be above the member's highest role. See [Nicknames](/Dashboard/discordintegration/nicknames) and [Roles](/Dashboard/discordintegration/roles).

  <Accordion title="My form has no accept or deny buttons">
    Open the form's settings and set **Form Type** to Application. Only applications can be accepted or denied. See [Applications](/Dashboard/resources/applications).

  <Accordion title="My Discord server icon or name hasn't updated">
    For the icon, click **Sync from Discord** in your server's [Settings](/Dashboard/settings#server-icon). Name changes can take up to 5 hours to sync, and unlinking won't speed it up.

    New listings can take up to 20 minutes to appear.

## Programs

    The Affiliate Program recognizes servers that actively use and support Melonly. One representative applies, ideally the server owner.

    * At least 2 months of using Melonly
    * At least 5,000 Discord members
    * At least 20 staff members on Melonly
    * A good reputation in the ER:LC community

    Verified servers get a blue check on the Server Directory.

    * At least 3,000 Discord members
    * Regular ER:LC sessions

    * At least a 4-star rating from 70 or more non-staff reviews
    * At least 2 months of using Melonly
    * High-quality roleplay standards

## Cookie Preferences

Melonly always uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and the site working. Analytics and marketing cookies are optional.

| Analytics | Helps Melonly understand how the site is used |
| Marketing and Ads | Referral and affiliate tracking, plus limited ad matching from Melonly's ad partner |

In regions that require consent first, a banner asks you on your first visit. Choose **Accept all**, **Essential only** or **Customize** to pick each option yourself.

To change your choice later, open the [Cookie Policy](https://melonly.xyz/cookies), scroll to **Manage Your Preferences**, tick what you want and click **Save preferences**. Preferences are saved per browser, so set them again on other devices.
