# Mod Panel Overview

> The real-time moderation workspace for your ER:LC server, with shifts, logs, players and tools on one screen.

## What is the Mod Panel?

The Mod Panel is where your staff team moderates day to day. It brings shifts, moderation logs, live in-game activity and your server's tools together on one screen. New logs, game events and staff changes show up without refreshing.

## Open the Mod Panel

You can open the panel from any of these:

* Click **Moderator Panel** in your server's dashboard sidebar.
* Click **Moderator panel** on a server card at [melonly.xyz/dashboard](https://melonly.xyz/dashboard).
* Go to **Dashboard → Panel** and click **Open moderator panel** or **Copy Link**.
* Go straight to [melonly.xyz/panel](https://melonly.xyz/panel).

  [melonly.xyz/panel](https://melonly.xyz/panel) opens your default server. Set it under **Account Settings → Server Preferences → Default Server**.

## Panel Layout

The panel is split into three columns.

| Column | What it holds |
| - | - |
| Left | Your shift controls, online staff, the Toolbox and the in-game player list |
| Middle | The Create New Log form and the live What's happening in game? feed |
| Right | Punishment Logs, a list of every moderation log on your server |

When you open a player's User Panel, the left column shows their profile and the right column shows only their logs. See [User Panel](/Modpanel/logs/userpanel).

### Resizing Columns

Drag the handles between columns to resize them. Your widths are remembered on this device. To reset them, double-click a handle or press `Ctrl` + `Shift` + `R` (`⌘` + `Shift` + `R` on Mac).

  The **Players** list, the game feed and the **Run Command** button only appear when your server has the [ER:LC integration](/Dashboard/erlcintegration/home) set up.

## Header

| Item | What it does |
| - | - |
| Server name | Opens the server switcher. |
| Command Palette | Search players, run commands and jump to tools. Press `/` to open it. See [Command Palette](/Modpanel/commandpalette). |
| Connection icon | Green while the panel is connected. If it turns red, refresh the page. |
| Watchdog icon | Appears if the server is protected by [Watchdog](/Dashboard/watchdog). |
| Notifications | Your Melonly notifications. |
| Your avatar | Account menu. The dot shows your shift status. |

A thin line under the header turns green while you're on shift and orange while you're on break.

## Server Switcher

Click the server name in the top-left to open the server switcher.

| Option | What it does |
| - | - |
| Server dashboard | Opens the dashboard, if you have access to it. |
| Your servers | Goes to your server list. |
| Leave server | Leaves the server and all of its departments. Not available to the owner. |
| Switch server | Jumps to another server's panel. Each server shows how many staff are online. |

## Mobile

On phones, the columns stack into one page and a bar appears at the bottom:

* **Home** takes you back to the top.
* **Players** and **Game** jump to the player list and game feed (ER:LC servers only).
* **Logs** jumps to Punishment Logs.

While a User Panel is open, the bar shows **Home**, **Player**, **Logs** and **Close**.
